Chi

We constantly are interacting with our surroundings. There is a flow of energy going in and going out of us. This energy comes to us in several forms, as oxygen through our breathing, as the energy in our food, as the warmth of the sun, as the light that reaches our eyes, the sound that reaches our ears. Some of this energy is pure, the warmth of the sun, the energy contained in a piece of fruit we eat, the light of a star that reaches our eye, after his light year long traveling through space. On the other hand we eat food that is processed so much that it lost all its pure energy, we breath polluted air and receive all kinds of electromagnetic radiation through our computers, phones and so forth.
Trying to become aware of the Chi flow of energy and more getting control of this energy is not so easy. I think that it becomes easier when we receive more of the pure form of energy and less of the polluted form of energy. To be conscious of the constant interacting helps also.

Camphor Oil and raw potatoes

Yesterday my friend Loet was here to talk about his new book and the plans for next year. He complained about pain in his knees. Almost immediately I knew that he had to massage them with camphor-oil. Once a day. I didn’t say it to him. I found it embarrassing to explain how I got this idea. Today I thought about Loet and immediately this camphor thing came up in my mind. I dared Eltsje, who is my grandmother, the mother of my father, to prove that she put this thought in my mind. All she had to do is to spin this hanging mirror ball above our bar. It didn’t move. I have a lot of doubts. Today I gave Nikki, the school friend of Nicky, an advise concerning a horse of her. She has to give him a raw potatoe to eat each day. I hope it will work.

Eltsje de Boer

Once upon a time there was a little girl, her name was Eltsje. She was living on the island ‘Urk’with her father, mother and brothers and sisters. Her father was a fisherman, but the government decided that the sea where he fished should be closed in by dikes and made dry, so the land could be used by farmers. Hearing this, the fisherman decided to leave the island, so he took his belongings and his children and wife and sailed away from the island to a new hometown.
The little girl cried a lot but in the new town she found herself a nice man. He knew how to dance. The girl wasn’t allowed to, because they were very religious and dancing was from the devil. The man was very good for her and they truly loved each other.
Eltsje had healing powers in her hands and she was guided to use these powers now and then.
Now she comes to me sometimes when I have a medical question. Our new horse that always had terrible skin problems is completely healed on her prescription. I got a prescription for myself yesterday that worked very well. And I got one for another horse, I don’t know yet if it will work.

Greeting the sun

As you can read in my bike blog I did my yoga-exercise "greeting the sun" outside on the moors at an actual sunrise.
I usualy do this exercise at 7 in the morning, after helping Nicky go to school. I use it as a warming up exercise and as a meditation-exercise. I am not so good at meditation, I tedn to slip away with my thoughts.
This exercise helps me very good to connect with the earth and recieving power from the sun.

I did this exercise stripped naked during an actual sunrise, feeling the frozen gras on my bare feet, feeling the cold air on my skin, feeling the weak power of the sun becomming stronger and stronger. As always I felt realy connected with the earth under me. When reaching up I felt that I, as anyone, was given the power and warmth for free and I accepted it. Lying down on the soil I felt that the earth also gives me a solid ground and a place to be.
